Read fuel trims in context
Positive trim usually means adding fuel relative to the base calculation; negative trim means reducing it. Compare short- and long-term trims by bank in the same operating conditions, with a warm engine in closed loop when appropriate. Air leaks, fuel supply, exhaust leaks and sensor bias can produce similar codes. No single threshold or replacement rule fits every engine.
