Test of the engines compression with one tablespoon of 30W oil added to the cylinder to determine if the low compression from the initial compression test is caused by leaking pistion rings, leaking valves, or from a hole in the head gasket or piston.
wet compression testing
Glossary “wet compression testing” Definition:
Testing of the engines compression pressure with one tablespoons of 30W oil added through the spark plug hole to seal the rings and determine if the compression leak is from the rings or the valves. DO NOT perform this test on a diesel engine.
