Area of a crank or block that absorbs end-to-end thrust pressure. A surface onto which a force is applied.

Washer that is capable of supporting a thrust load while maintaining the proper spacing within the component. A washer onto which a force is applied.

Glossary “thrust bearings” Definition:
A thrust bearing is a flat baring used to provide ease of rotation between component parts usually in the transmission while maintaining the proper spacing of the parts. also see thrust washer.

Glossary “thrust line” Definition:
Bisector of total toe on the rear wheels, or the direction in which the rear wheels are pointing.

Load placed on a part that is parallel with the center of the axis.

Retainer that positions the camshaft in an OHV engine and limits its end-to-end movement.
