Used to filter waxy HC’s from the carburetor ported vacuum to protect the vacuum delay and distributor vacuum controls.

Glossary “fuel vapor recovery system” Definition:
An evaporative emission-control system that recovers gasoline vapors escaping from the fuel tank and carburetor float bowl.

Glossary “fuel tank vapor valve” Definition:
Valve mounted in the top of the fuel tank that vents excess vapor and pressure from the fuel tank into the evaporative emissions control system.

Glossary “fuel trim” Definition:
PCM function that adjusts fuel delivery during closed-loop operation to bring the A/F ratio as close to stoichiometric as possible.

Glossary “fuel system” Definition:
Delivers fuel to the cylinders, consisting of a fuel tank and lines, gauge, fuel pump, carburetor or injectors, and intake manifold or fuel rail.

Connector, that when grounded will cause the electric fuel pump to operate when the key is in the KOEO position.

Test that can determine if excessive alcohol is present in the fuel.

Discharge tube in the carburetor through which fuel passes from the float bowl into the passing air stream whithin in the venturi

Solenoid valve that controls the amount of vacuum applied to the fuel pressure regulator.

Mechanical or electrical device used to move fuel from the fuel tank to the carburetor or injectors.

Usually bolted to the front of the camshaft, that is used to operate a mechanical fuel pump.

An N/C switch that will open if the vehicle is involved in an impact at speeds over 5 MPH or rolls over.
