Glossary “flywheel” Definition:
1). A heavy metal wheel with a starter ring that is mounted at the rear of the crankshaft. It absorbs energy on power stroke(s), return energy on other stroke(s). Transfers power to the clutch or torque converter. 2). Front-most part of a clutch assembly that is bolted to the engine crankshaft with a rear surface to provide a smooth friction area for the disc-front facing to contact during clutch engagement.
