Glossary “computer controlled suspension system” Definition:
System in which a computer-controlled actuator is positioned in the top of each shock absorber or strut. The shock absorber or strut actuators rotate a shaft inside the piston rod, and this shaft is connected to the shock valve. By changing the valve position the performance damping is also changed.

Term given a computer that controls the function and operation of an automotive system, or sub system.

Glossary “computer controlled brakes” Definition:
System having a sensor on each wheel, providing electrical signals into an on-board computer. As the vehicle is stopped, each wheel is stopped or slowed at the same rate, reducing sideways skidding during rapid braking, while maintaining control of the vehicle.

Glossary “computer controlled dwell” Definition:
A system which regulates the length of time that the ignition coil’s primary winding is energized to achieve coil saturation and prevent coil over heating. The leading edge of the trigger signal determines when the coil primary current turns ON, and the trailing edge determines when the coil primary current is turned OFF.
