Glossary “chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)” Definition:
A family of chemicals that includes the automotive air-conditioning refrigerant, R-12. Designated CFC, they have been blamed for a deterioration of the Earth’s protective ozone layer and have been phrased out of production by international agreement.
