Term used for restrictor plate.

Glossary “carburetor spacer” Definition:
A steel, aluminum, or plastic plate used to raise the carburetor above the normal opening of the intake manifold to insulate it from intake manifold heat. May have passages to allow for EGR flow, and or EGR valve mounting.

Glossary “carburetor tag” Definition:
Tag affixed to the carburetor to identify the model for parts and specifications needed for service.

Glossary “carburetor vacuum” Definition:
Ported vacuum, obtained from a carburetor source above the throttle plate, present after the throttle is partially open.

Glossary “carburetor icing” Definition:
Condition caused by high-velocity air flow; ice is formed on the inside of the throat of the carburetor. This condition is dependent upon ambient temperature and humidity.

Glossary “carburetor kickdown” Definition:
A momemtary tapping of the accelerator pedal to change engagement of the fast-idle screw from high step to lower step of the fast idle cam.

Glossary “carburetor kit” Definition:
A set of gaskets and parts necessary to rebuild a carburetor.

An item attached or adjacent to the carburetor that establishes operating conditions intended to reduce exhaust emissions.

A system in which heated air is directed from the manifold to the carburetor for improved performance during cold weather operation, and to help prevent icing.

The same as intake air temperature.
