Glossary “waiver” Definition:
Waiver of repair allows the vehicle to be registered even though it does not pass the emissions standards. A waiver may be granted to a vehicle that fails an emission test, if the vehicle cannot be repaired or if it cannot be repaired for a specified dollar amount. No waiver will be granted if an emission component is missing or damaged.
