EGR venturi vacuum amplifier
Glossary “EGR venturi vacuum amplifier” Definition:
Device which uses relatively weak venturi vavuum to control a manifold vacuum signal to operate the EGR valve. Contains a check ball and relief valve which opens whenever a venturi vacuum signal is equal to or greater than manifold vacuum.

EGR monitor
Glossary “EGR monitor” Definition:
It monitors the operation of the EGR inputs and output during a drive cycle when enabling critera has been met. A function of OBD II.
EGR system
Glossary “EGR system” Definition:
An EGR valve, mounted on the intake manifold, that meters a small amount of exhaust gas into the intake manifold to dilute the air/fuel mixture. This keeps combustion temperatures below 2,500¡ã F and reduces the formation of NOx. The amount of exhaust gas recirculated into the engine is only a few percent of the intake volume.
