يرصد المتحكم خللاً في استشعار ضغط الزيت أو أدائه. يجب التمييز بين خلل الإشارة وانخفاض الضغط الميكانيكي الحقيقي؛ استبدال الحساس وحده قد يفوت السبب. تطلب GM فحص الدائرة والحساس ثم قياس الضغط ميكانيكياً عند الخمول الساخن المحدد.
