Glossary “telescoping gauges” Definition:
Used to measure bore diameters and other clearances. They are normally offered in sizes ranging from fractions of an inch through six inches. Consists of two telescoping plungers, a handle and a lock screw. After the plungers have been allowed to expand against the bore, the lock is set and the plunger distance is measured with a outside micrometer.
